Tutorials
Build a Session counter on macOS in six lessons, from your first window to events, state, layout, navigation, and a tested app.
- 1. Open your first window
Install Day and open a localized native window on macOS with AppKit.
- 2. Handle a button click
Connect a native button to a callback and show a localized response.
- 3. Update state
Store a count in a signal and bind a localized label to it.
- 4. Arrange the controls
Combine rows and columns, add spacing, and reset the session counter.
- 5. Navigate between pages
Add counter and summary sections while keeping shared state above both pages.
- 6. Finish and test the app
Complete the session counter and verify counting, reset, navigation, and shared state with a dayscript.
- Optional: Try another platform
Run the completed app with Qt on macOS, then choose another desktop or mobile target.
- AI-assisted development
Connect Codex or Claude Code to Day, verify changes in a running app, and save tests for CI.
