Privacy policy
The Daybrite apps collect no personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in these apps is sent to Daybrite, because Daybrite runs no server that could receive it.
What stays on your device
Everything you create or configure — your city list, your subscriptions, your watchlist, your game progress, your preferences — is stored on your device. It is included in your device's own backup if you have one enabled, and it is removed when you uninstall the app.
What leaves your device
Some of these apps are useful only because they fetch something. When an app makes a request, the service it contacts necessarily sees your IP address and what you asked for, under that service's own policy — not ours. The table says which apps do this and why.
| App | Network requests | Permissions |
|---|---|---|
Day Showcasedev.daybrite.showcase | None. Every screen runs on data built into the app. | Camera, location and motion appear on the Device & sensors page to demonstrate how a permission prompt works. The app reads the sensors only while that page is open, shows the values on screen, and stores none of them. |
Day Skiesdev.daybrite.dayskies | Sends the coordinates of the cities in your list to Open-Meteo (or to a host you configure) to fetch the forecast. | Location, only if you use “Use current location”. The coordinates go to the weather service to fetch that forecast and are not stored anywhere else. |
Day Tradrdev.daybrite.daytradr | Requests end-of-day quotes from stooq.com for the symbols you track. | None. |
Day Sheetsdev.daybrite.sheets | Fetches the feeds you subscribe to, from the servers that publish them. | None. |
Day Gamesdev.daybrite.games | None. Every game runs offline. | None. |
Day Benchdev.daybrite.daybench | None. | None. |
Matrixdev.daybrite.matrix | Connects to the Matrix homeserver you sign in to. Messages are end-to-end encrypted by the Matrix protocol; Daybrite operates no server and sees none of your traffic. | None. |
Children
These apps are not directed at children and collect nothing from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version replaces this page and the date below changes with it. The apps are open source, so any change to what an app sends is visible in its commit history.
