What canvas text is drawn with beyond its size (docs/canvas.md “Text”): a family, a weight and a slant. The default is the platform’s own UI face, regular, upright, which is what every backend drew before the field existed, so a default font encodes to nothing on the wire.

family: Option<String>

A platform or bundled family name (as Toolkit::font_families lists it); None = the platform’s default UI face.

weight: Option<FontWeight>

None = Regular.

italic: bool
