How an image is scaled to fill its frame (§18.3). Maps to each toolkit’s native scaling.

Variants

Fit

Scale to fit entirely inside the frame, preserving aspect ratio (letterboxed). The default — an image never stretches unless asked. SwiftUI’s .scaledToFit.

Fill

Scale to fill the frame, preserving aspect ratio and cropping the overflow. SwiftUI’s .scaledToFill.

Stretch

Stretch to fill the frame exactly, ignoring aspect ratio.
