pub enum WindowKind {
Normal,
Preferences,
About,
}Expand description
What a secondary window is, so backends can apply platform conventions (docs/windows.md).
Variants§
Normal
A regular document/tool window: resizable, miniaturizable, platform-default tabbing.
Preferences
A settings/preferences window: singleton by convention; macOS disallows window
tabbing and drops the resize/minimize chrome, mobile presents it modally. Pairs with
day-core’s key-singleton reopen (open_window with a key).
About
The About window (docs/settings.md): the same fixed, centered, untabbed panel chrome
as Self::Preferences (every desktop treats the two alike), presented modally on
mobile. Singleton under day-core’s day.about key.

The default pairing: an ordinary window holds the app open, a preferences panel does not. An app that needs a different answer sets the role itself.
