pub enum ToolbarPlacement {
Automatic,
Navigation,
Principal,
Primary,
Secondary,
Bottom,
}Expand description
Where an item sits on the chrome that carries it (docs/toolbars.md).
A placement is a role, never a surface. Which toolbar, navigation bar or column an item rides follows from the piece that declared it, so an app never spells that out twice.
Variants§
Automatic
The natural spot on this chrome: after the leading group on a desktop toolbar, the
trailing item group on a navigation bar, an IF_ROOM menu action on Android.
The leading edge: a pane toggle, a control that reveals what is to its left.
Principal
Centered: a title accessory, a transport, a status readout.
Primary
Trailing, and the last thing a crowded chrome gives up.
Secondary
Trailing, and the first thing a crowded chrome folds into its overflow.
Bottom
A bottom bar where the platform has one (iOS toolbarItems, an Android bottom app bar);
ToolbarPlacement::Secondary everywhere else.
